Description: 
Sustainable forest management means the management of forests in such a manner and to the extent that ensures their biological diversity, productivity, regeneration capacity, vitality and the potential of the present and in the future, without damaging other ecosystems to meet ecological, economic and social functions, at local, national and global levels. Consequently, the main concerns in the development of forestry functions. The Estonian Forestry Development Plan until 2020 uses statistical indicators primarily as a source of statistical evaluation of the forest resources.
