Description: 
The act transposes Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the council of 23 October 2000 establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water. In order to manage and conserve the water level, the act provides for the delineation of basins or groups of basins in determining the appropriate bodies of groundwater and inland maritime waters and land attached to them. In each basin or group of basins, a basin competent committee is analyzing its characteristics and the impact of activities on the water status as well as an economic analysis of water uses, and the establishment and regular updating of one or more records listing the areas of water protection and habitat conservation and catchment areas, current or future, for the supply of drinking water. Each basin or watershed group has one or more planning and water management master plans laying down basic guidelines for a balanced management of water resources as provided for in Article L. 211 - 1 and objectives of quality and quantity of water, such as their good ecological and chemical status.
