German Climate and Technology Initiative

Key Information

The German Climate and Technology Initiative (Deutsche Klima- und Technologieinitiative, DKTI) is an instrument within the framework of Germany's contribution to international climate finance that has technology focus. The DKTI concept provides incentives for a tighter integration of the scientific community and private sector. The KfW in Serbia established an investment facility, supported by the German DKTI Programme for Serbia, endowed with the €100 million of loan funds to finance switching of 5-7 district heating companies from fossil fuels to bioenergy.
Support investments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect tropical forests (because of their importance as natural carbon stores), and adapt to the consequences of climate change.
