Description: 
Law 42/2007, 13th December, regarding the Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, defines the IAS (Inventory of Alien Species) as "specie introduced or established in a new environment or natural or semi-natural habitat which is an agent of change or threat to the biological native diversity, due to its invasive behavior, or due to the genetic contamination risk". The law additionally establishes that the permitting public administration will prohibit the introduction of such species, subspecies or geographic races foreign, when they are susceptible to compete with the indigenous wild species, upset the genetic purity or the ecologic balances, related to its article 52.2. Additionally it created, in its article 61.1, the National Catalogue of Invasive Alien Species, in which all alien invasive species and subspecies that are causing (or that could cause) a significant threat to the indigenous wild species, the habitats or the ecosystems, the agronomy or to the economic resources related to the natural heritage need to be included.
