Description: 
Executive Order 13514 established an integrated strategy towards sustainability in the Federal Government and to make reduction of greenhouse gas emissions a priority for all Federal agencies. It requires Federal agencies to measure, report, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution from agency operations to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and cut costs. Priorities: Greenhouse Gas Goals: Submit an annual Comprehensive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory & Reduce GHG emissions by 2020 in accordance with agency’s target Energy and Water Goals: Reduce energy intensity in facilities by 30% by 2015 as compared to 2003 baseline; Ensure that at least 5% of agency’s annual electricity use comes from renewable sources, with at least half of that generated from new sources (post-1999); Reduce potable water intensity by at least 26% in 2020 as compared to 2007 baseline. Other Sustainability Goals: Ensure by 2015 that at least 15% of building inventory meet the Guiding Principles for Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings including new, existing, and leased buildings and report it as sustainable in the Federal Real Property Profile (FRPP); Reduce petroleum use in agency’s fleet by 20% in 2015 as compared to 2005 baseline; Achieve a 95% sustainable acquisition goal for applicable goods and service procurements; Meet electronic stewardship goals for purchasing, operating, and disposing electronic equipment, by the end of 2010.
