Description: 
The intense agricultural activities can have negative impact to the environment and natural resources. The Code presents a series of good practices aiming to prevent some of these impacts. Among others, the Code presents guidelines for 1) the handling of by-products and wastes such as straw from cereal crop production, tree prunings, solid manure and liquid effluents from animal farms and other wastes (e.g. packaging of fertilizers, plastic covers, etc), 2) the application of fertilizers, 3) soil treatment, 4) irrigation.
Goal/Aim: 
The aim of this code is to: 1) contribute to the sustainable management of agricultural areas and natural sources 2) To protect the rural landscape and its characteristics 3) To protect the health of farmers and consumers
